Adaeze Acholonu, an eighth grader at Pennington School recently initiated, organized, and led an amazing food drive for Crossroads Connection. In two weeks, Adaeze collaborated with her classmates to collect nearly a month’s worth of the four items they donated for a total of 5,000 food items! This is a food drive record for 2025.

The students at Pennington definitely demonstrated they are “Like MIKE- Be Mindful. Be Inquisitive. Be Kind. Be Engaged.”
Pennington Traditional School, located in Manassas, is the first traditional school in Prince William County, opened in September 2000. The school was named for Philip Michael Pennington, a Prince William County police officer who died in the line of duty in 1990.
In recognition of their food drive achievement, they will receive a Crossroads Connection Platinum Award Certificate to display at their school.
