Our Mission
Our goal is to alleviate hunger as an obstruction to classroom learning. Sustained by a faithful and growing community of donors and volunteers, we operate as a chartered club of Heritage Hunt and a ministry of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church of Haymarket. We welcome all who desire to support this mission.
OUR STORY
ABOUT
Crossroads-Connection works with counselors at local public schools to identify students who are impacted by food insecurity; Crossroads provides weekend food to those students. Funding comes from local churches, the Heritage Hunt Women’s Organization, the Giving Circle of Heritage Hunt, The Women’s Club of Dominion Valley, local businesses, and individual donors. The number of children served each year depends on available funding.

Our Process
01
Seek
Donations
The number of children served each year depends on available funding and food donations from local grocers.
02
Recruit
Volunteers
We welcome all who desire to support the mission of helping to end hunger. Individuals and groups are encouraged to sign up.
03
Pack Bags
of Food
A few hours once a month is all it takes to pack up nutritious non-perishable food items for the weekend program.
04
Deliver Bags
of Food
Individuals pack their cars and SUV’s with food bags and deliver it to the school administration. The school provides the food to the children in need.
School counselors are evaluating their students’ needs so our list of schools supported will change regularly. Schools that receive support from Crossroads Connection are:
- Battlefield High School
- Buckland Mills Elementary School
- Bull Run Middle School
- Chris Yung Elementary School
- Glenkirk Elementary School
- Gravely Elementary School
- Mt. View Elementary School
- PACE West School
- Piney Branch Elementary School
- Sudley Elementary School
- Tyler Elementary School
- Victory Elementary School
